This category is for romances where the main characters can be any age, but both are at least age twenty-five and older.
Billionaire
Billionaire romances feature a billionaire with the other character from an ordinary background and often have a power imbalance.
Bully Romance
A type of dark romance similar to enemies to lovers, but the characters are usually younger and there is usually a power imbalance.
Contemporary
Contemporary romances are set in modern times. This site considers contemporary to be 2000 to present, with vintage contemporary pre-2000.
Academy
A type of new adult romance where the characters are around 18 years old and at least part of the story is set during the last year of academy or prepartory school.
Curvy Girl

Reverse Haram
Also called Why Choose Romance. The FMC has two or more love interests who are okay with sharing her.
Office Romance
Office romances take place in and around the workplace and may include colleagues or boss & employee.
Secret Baby
Romance where the MFC finds out that she is pregnant and keeps the info from the MMC. He may find out while she is pregnant or years later.
Mafia
Mafia romances are a type of dark romance that typically involve morally gray characters and mature content.
Forbidden Love
Romances that go against societal norms include stepbrother romance, dad's best friend, ex-boyfriend's father, professor/teacher, etc.
Reverse Age Gap
An age gap romance where the ages of the characters are reversed with the female character being older. The age gaps are usually not as large.
Age Gap
These books feature large age gaps between the main characters where the MMC is older than the MFC by at least 7-10 years.
Opposites Attract
In an opposites attract romance the characters are very different from one another in personality and/or looks. Ex. popular boy-nerdy girl.
Rockstar Romance
In a rockstar romance, one or more main characters are rockstars and that comes with the challenges of being famous.
MC
MC romances are between one or more members of a motorcycle club and often involve morally gray characters and situations.
Sports Romance
On or more main characters plays sports. The most common sports include football and hockey romances.
Professor / Teacher
These romances feature the taboo relationships between a student 18+ and an instructor or professor.
